MENTORING

We pair bright students and aspiring young entrepreneurs with mentors to guide them in reaching their full potential

Big Sister Program

The Big Sister Program was added to help increase the efficacy of our vocational training initiative through mentorship.

The structure of the program is to allow for graduates of our vocational training  program to mentor at least one current student in the program. Mentorship would include meeting at least once a month (lunch, work on a task together, attend an event together, etc). Mentoring is to address but not limited to the vocational training program. To provide encouragement, advice, resources, etc. ZOF’s responsibility would be to provide guidelines on the mentoring process, to cover travel and food expenses, as well as to monitor progress.

We believe the benefits of this mentorship program are numerous. A mentorship program helps us to have hands on the ground and who better to do it than big sisters who are in similar situations and have passed through the same vocational training program. We believe this would also help to encourage the big sisters as they have younger ones looking up to them.

Areas of opportunity would be how to evaluate the effectiveness of our Big Sister Program. Secondly to ensure we are covering our bases so as not to incur any potential liability.
